In Limogen en Quercy, at 5 miles from the campsite you will find all the shops for the bare necessities, doctors and pharmacists. On every Sunday morning there is a lively regional market.

At less than 9 miles from Lalbrade you will find:

  • the village [ Saint-Cirq Lapopie ], one of the most beautiful villages in France.
  • the valleys of the Lot and Célé, where you can go canoeing or boating.
  • the prehistoric caves of Pech Merle
  • The Cénevières castle with tapestries from the 12th century
  • the open-air museum of Quercy, which presents the life and farming techniques of the past,
  • the many phosphatières, including those of Bach with the option of to
  • and for the specialists: the region offers many opportunities for caving
  • many dolmens in the municipality Limogne
  • And the village of Lugagnac, where sculptor Serge Rames gives new life to old tools

A little further, less than 30 miles, you can visit cities such as Cahors, Figeac et Villefranche-de-Rouergue, the Cistercian Abbey of Beaulieu, le village médiéval et le chateau de Najac, le chateau d'Assier (16ème siècle), la grotte Bellevue à Marcilhac, la maison des Arts Georges Pompidou à Cajarc, le musée de l'insolite à Cabreret, l'église fortifiée de Saint-Pierre Toirac et ses sarcophages mérovingiens, ainsi que de nombreux châteaux.

And not to forget the gastronomic specialties of the region, truffles, foie gras, confit de canard, lamb of Quercy, the Cahors wine and the goat cheese called cabécous which is a part of the appelation controlée (cabécous Rocamadour) like the Quercy melon, walnut cake and the Pastis de Quercy.

And also the agricultural quality products that you can find on the various markets.

And the area offers you more without the need of long car trips, such as ancient cities (Conques, Cordes and Rocamadour), castles, caves (Padirac Lacave, Presque, Cougnac,,) as well as a visit to one of the many vineyards

And if you like walking/hiking, there are guided walks on the wednesday for half a day or a complete day in the area and on the Causse including a visit to the Igue of Grégols (a large round hole in the ground), the banks of the Lot and the village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie
